I made sure to bring along some stuff for Mama and Papa. In my luggage were:
- microwave oven - heating food has never been easier!
- pocket wifi - now there's internet at the house!
- digicam - Papa sent it back as he found it too complicated to use!
- agriculture magazines - Papa had been pestering me to send them
- clothes for mama
- Papa's sneakers
- Pruning shears
- Scarf for mama
- a folding fan for mama
- washing machine - my sisters bought a washing machine for them!
I spent 3 days there and those days were very frantic. I commissioned the washing machine and taught papa how to use the pocket wifi. I also installed a light fixture in the dining area of the house to brighten up the place. We also went to visit his tree farm in Silago town then traveled 81 kilometers to Sogod town to have his motorcycle serviced. And when my 3 days were up, I had to go back to Manila and get ready for work.

Going back to Manila, I felt so tired but happy to have made the trip to visit my parents. I missed seeing the clouds covering the mountains behind our town. I missed the cool ambient temperature wherever I went. The surprise I got on my trip back however was that our bus boarded the new ferry - the NNATS Poseidon 26!

The inside of the ferry was clean and you can see that it was very new! There were monitor screens everywhere that showed a movie to keep the passengers entertained. The air inside did not reek of vehicle exhaust. And you can see signs all over the place marking exits and safety gadgets in English and Chinese. This betrayed the origin of the ship as it was clearly made in China. Nonetheless, it was a handsome piece of naval hardware! And any new ship is better than those old dilapidated ferries that serve the inter-island routes. Oh and the toilets were very clean!
In my bag were 4 durian fruit and the smell of them was so strong as I got my bag from the cargo hold of the bus. As I made my way home, I was just glad to be back safely. The Lord has been good to me yet again and delivered me back safely.
My sibs will be visiting Mama and Papa in October for Mama's birthday. When they get there the house will be a lot easier to live in for them as I had already brought the stuff they'd be using for their stay. Ehehehe. My mission was a success! Until next trip to Leyte!
