Lets get this in chronological order:
1. I was born into the world in the mid-70's.
2. I was baptized as a Roman Catholic as a baby without my consent. Back then, I didn't know what was going on in the first place since I was still a baby!
3. Growing up I was pretty much brought up as a Catholic but without much foundation on religion and why I was doing all that stuff to begin with. However I was attending a born again Christian school. During this period, I had come to know about God and religion as a Born Again Christian.
4. At around 9 years of age I was made to attend a confirmation as a Catholic. Despite not wanting to, my mother pretty much forced me into it.
5. Prior to attending college, my 3rd brother brought me along to attend a church service in Ortigas Center. I had a lot of fun and my interest in religion was lit!
6. Even after my brother brought me to attend that church service in Ortigas Center, I had begun to seek out other churches where I could belong.. I had chosen not to apply fo rmembership in that church because I was afraid somewhat. Afraid that I would end up making my mom mad. Afraid that I would have to make time to go to church.. Also my work at the time required me to be away for long periods of time. I could not meet church commitments in any case..
7. A few years later I got married to a Catholic girl that I loved. Granted that I had all my documents as a Catholic, it was easy for me to get this done. My wife knows however that I am a born again Christian. She has also joined me on some occasions to attend church services in Ortigas Center. But it has been a long time since I had last attended church. In a way I am feeling empty. I have not heard the word of God and not given worship for so long that I am rotting inside. There were times that I attended Catholic mass but I always ended up feeling empty. I want to go back and become a member of that church in Ortigas Center..
8. Lately my work has gone through a lot of changes. I now have a bit more time and my Sundays are now free.. I am seriously pondering applying for membership no matter what my wife might say. I still have to tell her about this anyway. Its not like I can just make such a big decision all by myself. My spiritual gauge is really close to empty at this point. I know this because my mind has been full of crap lately.
And that sums up my spiritual life as of late.. Until next post.. Maybe when I get to join that church, I can snap some shots of my joining.. Hmm..
