To stay or not to stay

I used to work for a manufacturing company for a good 11 years.  I say "used to" because our company decided to merge with and industry rival in order to ensure its survival.  In the process of the merging of the companies, I got paid a little bit and got to keep my job when I got migrated into the new company.  This event has led me to a crossroad and I'm really at odds as to what to do..  I have a couple of paths before me and now I am unsure which one to take..

Path 1: Bijinesuman (Businessman in Japanese) - With the small payout I got I can really choose to start a small business for myself.  I'm already doing this by being a computer system builder and technician part-time. I am thus tempted to put up a small computer-related business for myself and pray to God that it will provide for my family's needs.  But with the memory of two relatives' computer-related businesses failures weighing heavily on me, I am greatly hesitant to go into a computer-related business due to the competitive nature of the business and small margins involved.

Path 2: Bum - My wife is also employed like me and I believe that she has a great career ahead of her.  As such, I really don't mind the idea of leaving her with the job of bringing home the bacon while I take care of household chores and nurture the kids.  While household chores are easy for me, rearing kids is really a big challenge for me.  But if its what I have to do to support my spouse's career, I don't really mind all that much.  I pretty much a homebody and I think running the house would be a great challenge - for now..  I could do this while running a business once the kids grow up.. Hmm..

Path 3: Find another job - I admit that my current job has somewhat lost some of its luster.  While I am constantly challenged by my ever-changing work environment and tasks, my resistance to change is resulting in mounting amounts of stress.  I've noticed that I've been putting on weight as a result and I'm not all that jolly after I come home from work..  Its only been less than a year since I was migrated to the new company and I'm already feeling the stress.. I wonder if I can stay for very long like this.. I'm thinking of maybe switching careers will change all that for me..  But at 35 years of age, I doubt that I would easily find a company that would take me in.. Argh..  My resume you see is not all that beefy to begin with..

Path 4: Stay - As my stress mounts in the new company borne out of the said merger, I still think that there is still light at the end of the tunnel.  I'm learning a lot of things as I go along and I am receiving ample training to better equip me for my job.  There's just to much work ahead that I can't help but be both excited and anxious at the same time.  I'm afraid that I won't be able to cope with all this happening so fast..

Haynaku what's wrong with me?  I'm sure countless other people have gone through the same thing as I am going through now..  I just wish I'd get around to deciding soon.. Maybe I will update this post once I get around to deciding what I'd do with my life..
