My first android smartphone: Samsung Galaxy Chat B5330

Its been more than a week since I got myself a Galaxy Chat.  And I have to say that I am happy with this new phone.  I had been holding off on buying an android smart phone for so long because I wanted to wait until the smoke had cleared and that the technology was mature enough.

Some good points:
- I love the way everything is synchronized.  It even tells me when I have new mail in my gmail account.  Great!
- Its actually fast!  Navigation is quick and there is little loading time.  I also like the live wallpapers and the option to change your lock screen.  The multiple home screens is so overwhelming that I only have two home screens so far!  Ahahahahaha.
- Wifi connection is excellent but I have yet to try it as a wifi hotspot..
- The qwerty keypad is decent and the buttons are easy to press.  I also like the layout of the buttons and keys.  It hasn't taken me a long time to get used to it.
- The size is just right for me.  I like it.
- Security is good as you can choose to have the phone protected with a numeric code, a gesture, or none at all..  It would have been nice if it could recognize fingerprints..  Ehehehehehe.
- I love the fact that so many things can be configured.  I can create so many different alarms, and set the screen to dim at just the right intervals.  Its really a "Smart" phone.  I can only imagine just how much smarter those flagship phones are..
- I love the apps for download..  It greatly expands the repertoire of my phone..
- Call volume seems to be okay.  I can hear clearly whether I put it to my left or right ear.

Some bad points:
- Battery life is weak especially when compared to the C3-00 which can last up to 3-4 days without a charge!  Its still inferior to the C3-01, which can last up to 2.5 days without a charge.  It's pathetic compared to my old Cherry Q11 that could last up to 6 days without a charge!  I practically need to charge this thing every freaking day!!  I wish Samsung would come up with a stronger battery for this unit..
- The screen is a bit hard to appreciate since the pixel count is a bit low.. Playing games like Battle Cats is a bit hard when you zoom out..
- Don't expect to play processor intensive stuff like games.  I tried running "Goodnight" and it crawled like a slug.
- I hate the fact that you can't create or edit sound profiles.  Its just Mute, Vibrate, or Ring.  Sheesh.  No timed profiles either.  Argh..
- The camera is only a 2MP affair.  It could have been better if they put in a 5MP snapper with LED flash..
- No led flash that can be used as a flashlight.. Most phones these days have built-in flashlights..
- No navigation buttons.  I hate having no way to move around easily when I'm editing a message.  Its so hard to tap on the screen and have the cursor land a few spaces from where you want to go and edit..  Having some dedicated left and right buttons (even if onscreen!) would make this a whole lot easier..
- I miss having dual charging options.  Both my Cherry Q-11 and Nokia C3-01 used dual charging methods - usb and via mini plug!  This unit only allows me to charge via micro-usb..  Oh well..
- I wish this phone was compliant to the Qi standard for wireless charging.  Heck, I wish it was wireless charging capable to begin with!

Now if you're like me who can get past all those bad points, you can be happy with this unit and use it for years to come..
