Around 11 years ago, when I was still working in an old cigarette factory, I had befriended one of the secretaries in a different department. I found her cute and thought that maybe I'd get to know her better.
I was fortunate enough to have been able to secretly get her contact number with the help of an office accomplice. And I had soon befriended her thru text messaging. I found out that she had a boyfriend and that things between them was somewhat confusing for her. She kept telling me that her beau was not "malambing" and kept asking me if all Chinoy guys were like that? I told her no and that maybe there's just something keeping him from really committing to their relationship.
So I tell her to let me do something for her to help her out. She pesters me all day to ask what I had in mind but I tell her to trust me and wait patiently. Within the week I arrange for a bouquet of flowers to be delivered to her in their office for everybody to see. And when she gets the flowers she sends me a text message asking me if I was the one who had sent the flowers. I tell her "yes" but tell her to keep it a secret and insist that its an anonymous admirer and wait for what her boyfriend would do.
True enough, her boyfriend gets so worked up over the flowers that he becomes super sweet to her immediately. The ploy worked and the next thing I hear, they were getting married soon! All I could say was "Wow!" My lady friend thanks me in secret and I believe her now husband never knew what hit him. Sadly, she had to keep things between us a secret as well so as to ensure that her beau doesn't get mad at me because until today I believe he's still wondering who it was who sent the flowers to his girl!
Ahahahahaha! It still brings a smile whenever I look back and think about how much fun it was.
