I remember the last time that I went to visit the kids. Me and my eldest son were shopping for some things and the whole time we were talking in English. And at one store I noticed that the sales ladies were keenly observing my son because he wasn't having any difficulty keeping up with me as I spoke in English.
They couldn't keep their amazement at my son as he spoke in unbroken English. I guess I was very proud of my son because I couldn't help but smile as they doted on him. Ahahahahaha. Me and my English!
But in fairness, all my kids are very proficient in English and find it very natural to speak in English. They're actually having a hard time communicating in Filipino as a result. But I'm not worried. I used to be just like them when I was a kid. And I turned out just fine.
