Watching the concert last night was a real blast for me. Good food, great music, and great company equals an awesome night. =) I'm still high as the songs are still playing in my mind and I'm wondering when I'll get to do this again..
One of the performers was Top Suzara (formerly of Freestyle) and he asked the audience at one point if we had ever tried writing a song for anybody.. When he said that inspiration for his songs can come from the seemingly simplest of things, I couldn't help but agree with him. Because I write my poetry in a somewhat similar way..
While my poetry is far from the best out there, I know that they are my music.. Like how a musician rushes to put his inspiration into song, I too have to put my thoughts into words when inspiration comes to me. I guess I'm more of a lyricist than a musician though, as my poems are like the lyrics of a song in my heart and mind. The inspiration is the music I hear in my mind, and I respond by writing the lyrics.
Kinda makes me wonder what a real song would be like with my lyrics on it.. =)
