POETRY: Silent Embrace

SILENT EMBRACE

Amidst song and merry
Amidst this crowd of many
Through fate's given grace,
You and I are in a silent embrace.

I put my arms around you.
And lose myself in the music
as I drown myself in your scent.
I have lost myself yet again.

And as your fingers and mine intertwine,
I feel the warmth of your touch.
I wish this moment would never end
and that the world would just go away.

In this quiet moment that we share
there is only you and I.
And as the minutes go by slowly,
we happily lose track of the time.

I am drunk and dizzy..
My mind is a hazy blur..
All I know right now
is that you are in my arms.
