Yesterday I proceeded to clean the aircon unit in Papa's room. I came upon the idea when my sibs and I slept in Papa's room to save electricity. The aircon was already at full blast then yet we still needed an electric fan to cool ourselves! It was totally unacceptable for me since I knew just how capable the aircon unit in Papa's room is!
So when we were cleaning up yesterday, I took it upon myself to clean the unit. With help from KD, we were able to bring out the unit to the garage and there I carefully prepped it for cleaning. Fortunately for us we have a sprinkler gun with variable nozzles which really helped out a lot. And coupled with basic knowledge culled from watching aircon technicians clean units, I proceeded to clean Papa's unit. Oh and I used to clean the window-type aircon unit at my house to save money so Papa's aircon was just more practice for me. Ehehehehe.
Good thing that the water pressure was strong and it really got rid of the dirt and grime that was clogging the radiator fins. I didn't need to use soapy water and foam for the process. After washing, I carefully put it back together and called for help from KD to put the aircon back into its wall mount. Much as I had wanted to immediately test it, we had to let it dry up and let the oil in the compressor settle first before we could proceed to try it out.
And so we decided to try the aircon out and slept in Papa's room last night. And true enough, it was SUPER COLD! Whopee!! I am so glad it all panned out! Ehehehe. Now to clean the next unit! Ehehehe.
