I recently bought a surplus bike in preparation for the arrival of my nephew who will be staying with us for the upcoming summer vacation. The bike cost P4,000 to acquire and I spent another 2k to fix it up so that it would be in a condition that I was confident that my nephew would be safe to ride it.
And just as I finished all the modifications and repairs on the bike, I got to see a brand new bike that was on sale at a nearby bike shop for P4,500 only. It's original price was P6,800 and the shop dropped the price just to get rid of excess inventory. My heart sunk.
Well, there's no use crying over spilled milk. I just hope my nephew likes the bike and would be confident enough to ride it while he's at our place for the summer. Lesson learned: don't be in a huff to buy a bike. Always do your homework and endeavor to visit the nearby bike shops first.
