Of memories and memoirs..

Some things are really best forgotten.  But then some things should also not be forgotten.  It's just funny that we keep remembering the things that should be forgotten and keep forgetting the ones that should be remembered.

I guess our memories can be a fickle thing.  And just as the documentary that I watched earlier said, the more we access our memories by thinking back, the more inaccurate they become as we remember things differently each time.  Kinda strange especially since our memories are supposed to be burned into our brains.  So would it be better if we didn't think back to our memories so that they would not get altered?

I guess this is one of the reasons why I started a blog.  So that I can somehow record my memories here and maybe someday re-read them without ending up with a distorted picture of past events and memories.  Maybe someday I'll read them all again and just smile (or cringe!) as I recall all those events.  After all, my blog has become somewhat of a memoir for me as well as an avenue for the world to see my work as a writer.

It's only been a few years since I started this blog.  And I guess I'll be writing in it for as long as I can.  I've put my heart and soul into all this and I truly wish that someone out there could be moved by my words in one way or another.  I hope that this pathetic excuse for a writer has somehow gotten across to the great big world out there.

Cheers!
