My 2015 in review

This year has been a rather interesting year for me.  And I am honestly still overwhelmed by it all.  Looking back, what do I fondly remember about this year?
  • I quit my job at Foremost Farms.  It was getting to be too much and I wasn't exactly getting paid commensurately for it.  So despite having met some very good people there, I quit and decided to take up my dad's offer to go with him to mom's hometown in Southern Leyte.
  • I signed up for free baking class with the intention of maybe putting up a bakery to sell baked pastries in the province.  It was March when I signed up, but they only informed me to let me know that class would start in July!  I had all but given up on it!  That, and I got the text message while I was in Leyte!
  • Went home to mom's hometown in Southern Leyte.  We had already gone to visit last year and the plan this time was for me to stay longer and look for possible business opportunities.  And despite commissioning plans for a future building construction, we put a halt on everything as the actual business climate there was not as favorable as we would have hoped.  Papa wanted me to venture in Agribusiness, but I guess I didn't exactly see myself as a farmer type of businessman.  So I finally decided to go back to Manila in the latter part of the year.
  • I got to visit Cebu island for the first time as an adult.  We had passed by Cebu twice already in the past.  But visiting Ate Meme and Kuya Biboy last July was my first time to see Cebu as an adult.  I made the trip from Southern Leyte via ferry boat and got to stay at their place.  I also got to go around the city and see the place for myself.  Though I didn't have enough time and funds to visit the famous resorts of the island, I did get a good feel for the place - traffic included!
  • Learning baking for free in August was really very interesting for me.  There was really so much for someone like me to learn.  And I had a lot of fun while I was at it!  Now it would be up to me to keep practicing so that I can eventually put this new skill to good use!
  • I got to meet some new people this year.  Some in Leyte. Some at Baking Class. Some online. And some more in my new job.  It seems that meeting people will never grow old for me.  Whether it's meeting new people for possible business or for work, this is what us humans being social creatures is all about.  For all we know, I may have already met the one who will change the rest of my life.. (wink! wink!)
  • Got a new job just before the year ended.  It's a new industry for me and I'm looking forward to learning a lot of new things and skills in this new job.  While most people my age would be scared to be learning something new, I'm looking forward to all the great stuff that I could learn from this new job.  Oh and they even gave us a Christmas package!  We had just started with the company last December 21st and yet they gave us some token Christmas food! I was really touched by this!  I like this company!
  • Biked a lot this year! I got to bike to Nasugbu, Batangas in February.  And while I was in Southern Leyte, I got to go biking all over the place!  This is definitely something that I intend to keep on doing in the coming year! But maybe I won't be doing any of the really long distance stuff for a while..
  • I got to visit the kids every so often.  It's also noteworthy that Leicester now has a mobile phone that I can call him up at.  Hopefully I'll be able to start sending money for them in 2016.

I'm really looking forward to the year ahead.  A lot of plans need to be set in motion that will set the tone for the future.  And while I can't really put them all down here, suffice to say that things will be pretty busy for me in the coming year!
