MERRY CHRISTMAS
The lights blink quickly.
A myriad colors in an instant.
The wind chills me again
as a child urges me for alms.
The ladies rush to and fro.
Never really knowing where to go.
I stare at the pile of cheap clothing;
the registers slam with a familiar ring.
Lonesome people looking in envy
as couples pass in giggles and whispers.
A man quietly counts his money.
A lady sighs helplessly as a man kisses his honey.
What is true in spirit?
Is it the joy of giving?
Is it the comfort of belonging?
Is Jesus' birth worth remembering?
Where have we gone?
What are you doing?
I think I am lost.
Happy Birthday Jesus.
This was my very first Christmas-themed poem. And its not exactly a happy one. Ahahahahaha. I hope I didn't do too bad on this one..
