Biked to work again today but with my 700x23c wheel set installed..
26x1.38 CST Traveler wheel set:
- soft ride, more comfortable
- nice grip
- easier handling
- easier climbing
700x23c Kenda wheel set:
- hard ride, you can feel every bump
- good grip on dry pavement
- nimble handling
- faster cruising speed (33kph vs 31kph)
Kinda torn on this one. Ahahahaha. At least I know which wheel set to use when it rains and which one to use when I'm running late!

I had built my bike with the idea that I would have two wheel sets so that I can have the best of both bike worlds. One set was a 26" fitted with 33.7cm wide tires and the other was a 29" fitted with narrower 23cm wide tires. I weighed both of them last night and much to my surprise, they both weighed 4.2kgs! I was pleasantly surprised because it would make my experiment much more balanced! And now I have finally compared the performance of the two sets.
The speed demon in me wants likes the 700c wheel set better because its a lot faster and rolls better due to the lower rolling resistance but the old man in me prefers the 26" wheel set because of the softer ride.. Hmm.. But I'm definitely gonna use the 700c set for my long rides because it will allow me to go faster and longer..
