HEART AND MIND GO TO WARI was seriously thinking whether to make a move or not.. So I wrote this piece.. =)
Like the church and the state,
heart and mind love and hate.
Sometimes they agree and go at peace.
Sometimes they fight with no appease.
A new toy makes heart flutter.
So strong it makes mouth stutter.
Mind stays calm and wary;
always busy watching the body.
Ever so often mind sits quietly
even when heart is dancing wildly.
But sometimes things get worse,
this is when love takes it course.
When in love, heart seems ecstatic;
behavior totally erratic.
Mind can never comprehend;
pondering everything to no end.
Mind goes angry, totally confused.
Heart cries out, so misunderstood.
As war breaks out, all are amused.
Pass the popcorn, if you would.
Mind attacks fiercely with logic.
Cites economy, order, and self-preservation.
Heart's response is automatic.
Joy, happiness, warmth, and devotion.
When heart wins,
mind quietly accepts defeat.
As the body follows heart's whims,
procreation is mind's greatest feat.
But when mind gains favor instead,
heart slowly breaks.
The body is taken by emotions, unwanting to be fed.
Mind always talks of fish in great lakes.
It is soul who will decide
should it be heart or mind's side.
All is to be gained or lost.
Can you tell soul for what cost?
